Role Permissions for Teachers

I want to sure my Canvas course with other Teacher's in my grade level so they can see what we are doing. Having the Copy To function is super helpful if we want to utilize assignments the other teacher has made. However, you have to give a teacher editing permission in order to have the option to copy assignments. It has happened multiple times where a teacher forgets they are not in their course and edits and assignment in my course. Can we give non-editing teachers the option to copy assignments so I don't have to worry about my assignments being changed?

Hi @SierraRoberts ,

This would need to be configured by an account admin at your institution, a teacher alone cannot edit permissions for user roles.

As a teacher, I recommend using the Share Content feature or sharing your resources to Commons, especially if you want to minimize accidental editing of your own resources in your course. You can also use a master course with everything you guys will be using and teachers (ensure they have editing rights) can copy content from that course into their own courses and edit it there.

Here are some more links with additional information:
How do I import and view a Commons resource in Canvas?
How do I use Commons?
How do I manage content shared to me from other users?

I hope this helps,
Noah
