Hi Akshay,

There is no option for adding a login button for SAML logins to the login page.  The built-in Canvas login page uses the local Canvas identity provider, and as far as I can tell, there's no option for editing it beyond some minor branding.

Under Admin > Authentication, you have the option to select which Authentication Provider will be your "default".  Each  Authentication provider has a "Position" setting and the one with position 1 will be your "default", that is, the one users go to if they go to "https://<myschool>.instructure.com".   So, if almost all your users will be using SAML, you may want to make that one the default/position 1.

However, since each Authentication Provider has its own URL (the built-in Canvas login page is "https://<myschool>.instructure.com/login/canvas", while your SAML Auth Provider might be "https://<myschool>.instructure.com/login/saml/2"), you could create a web page with links to each of your Canvas Authentication Providers, so users could go to that page to select between the different Authentication Providers.

Then, change the SSO settings at the top of the Authentication page so that the SSO "Discovery URL" points to that Auth Provider selection page.

However, I'm pretty new to Canvas, so it's possible some other Canvas admins have a more elegant solution...

We are using ADFS. We have students going to ADFS but not parents as they don't have school accounts. I put two separate links on our website. One for students with the ADFS link and one for parents with the straight https://schoolname.instructure.com
