Hello Canvas Community,
Please forgive me if this has already been asked, I was unable to locate the answer. We have an instructor that would like his students to be able to access the course material (downloading files and content) from his course for an indefinite amount of time. When the term date ends (ours is set to end Dec. 16 for students) will the students still be able to access the course content, just not participate? Or do they lose the ability to access the course period? If they still have access to the content, does anyone know how long that content access will remain (six months, a year)?
If this is not possible, does anyone have any suggestions outside of changing the course dates and checking the "students may only participate in this course between these dates" option?
Thank you all very much!
Cheers,
Niki
Solved! Go to Solution.
As long as the "Restrict students from accessing courses after end date" box isn't checked in settings (both on the Admin side and individual course side) the students will be able to access everything in the course and just not be able to submit.
Here's a guide that talks about the restrict setting - How do I manage the options in the Account Settings tab?

Thank you so very much Kona! For the life of me I could not find that part in the guides. I will let the instructor know. Thank you once again for such a quick response!

Happy I could help!
