One feature that I miss from our previous platform (ANGEL) was the ability to track student activity. I could set it up so that I could see if a specific student opened/accessed specific folders and files in ANGEL. From what I see, CANVAS has only a very vague tracking that show when students log in and out but it is not known what they are doing while logged in. I have found it to be totally useless for my needs as an instructor. Knowing hat they viewed pages isn't very helpful. I want to know if they opened and viewed the files that they were required to. With the need to convert classes to online formats, the ability to track student usage of course material is even more essential. Are there plans to have such a feature by the start of classes in the fall. Am I missing something with the current tracking capability??
