Student wants to increase font size on iPad

Jump to solution

Greetings. My apologies if this is a duplicate question, but I've searched without success.

My student has inquired if they can increase the font size on their Student App. They don't want to change the iPad setting to change the font globally.

Is there a way to increase the font size within the Canvas app?

Thanks much, Margi

Thanks so much, @rseilham. This is exactly what I was hoping for. Will send along to the student. And save for future.

Hi this is possible from iOS itself, but requires iOS 15. Check out the following video for how to change text size for individual apps from the control center:

I hope this helps!

Normally there is an option in iOS and iPadOS to increase or decrease the Font or Text size in the Display & Brightness / Accessibility Settings. Adjusting iPhone font size from these settings will reflect on all the apps. But If you just want to change the text size for your favorite app that has

I found that the Control Center solution does allow me to increase the text size for menu items in the Canvas App, but it does not increase the text size for text fields (for example, when students enter assignments into text fields) or for pages in which I’ve provided reading material for students.

The solution does, however, work if I access Canvas from a we browser; it is only in the Teacher and Student Canvas apps that the text size of fields and pages cannot be altered.
