I have quite a few faculty asking me how to tag or categorize in Canvas exam/quizzes. I know Outcomes is one way to do this but is there a way to do it similiar to the way Blackboard does it? What does everyone else do? The link below explains how to do this in Blackboard, scroll down to the About Question Metadata section to see how it works in Blackboard.
Have you gotten any feedback on your question? Our instructors have asked this question too-- Is there a way to group quiz questions into categories or topics for better assessment and remediation?
No, I haven't gotten a response to this. I just don't understand why Canvas doesn't have this option, Outcomes isn't what we are looking for in this case.
Likewise for us! Let me know if you hear more on this topic. I will do the same. Have a great day!
Hi Pazehoski,
No, I haven't gotten help with this. They keep referring me to outcomes but that's not what I'm looking for. It's quite frustrating because we were able to do it in Blackboard it really doesn't make sense that Canvas doesn't do this.
Hi @fkolarz & @pazehoski ,
New Quizzes Item Banks include a tag field for questions. It may be worth testing that or offering it as an option for your faculty.
Hi @stimme & @pazehoski
This is good to know but our faculty want to be able to tag within the courses too. I know Outcomes is an option for that but tagging is preferred. Do you know if at some point Canvas will do that?
