Teacher Creating Course

I have a new teacher that when she logs in, she doesn't have the option to create a new course (all other teachers do) or a commons button to the left. 

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

 @kstewart1 , I think for Canvas to know that the person is a "teacher" they need to be enrolled in at least once course with teacher permissions. Do you know if this Instructor is listed as an Instructor/teacher in any courses?

Canvas stores a variable for each user.  While there's ways of checking a user's role, I haven't seen any way to set it other than the way  @kona ​ describes here - enrolling them in a class with that role.

If the user is enrolled as a Teacher, and still can't see the button, then it could be that the button was disabled by your canvas admin.
