How do I change the status of an individual from student to T/A?

Hi Gerry and welcome to the Community!

I see that you are teaching at University of Nebraska.   Most large university link enrollment in Canvas courses to their student information system and do not allow people with a teacher role in the course to add or modify enrollments.  My best advice would by to route a request internally to your support folks in order to find out what the policy there is.

Hello there,  @gphaneuf  Welcome to the Canvas Community.  Thank you for posting your question.  Please refer to this Guide (especially the information in the blue box at the top).  https://community.canvaslms.com/docs/DOC-13123-4152481701  If you aren't able to edit the role yourself, you will need to reach out to your school's local Canvas administrator or someone at your school's Online Learning/eLearning department to make this change for you.
