Is there any way to update a content page without triggering a notification?

Heather,
I do not believe that is a feature currently in Canvas. I believe that most users would not want to disable this feature so that students can keep abreast of any changes made to their course content. You may want to review the comments on this previous discussion.

Hmm, I was hoping for a workaround. We have a student orientation course about how to use Canvas. I would like to update it when Canvas makes updates but do not want notifications to go out everytime I make a change. Maybe I will just update during the summer.
Ok, what if I move the end date of the course into the past, make my changes, and then re-enter the current course endate? Would that do it?
