Use Gradebook to Enter and Assign Grades to Rubric

I prefer to enter grades through Gradebook as it means I can quickly enter scores by using the tab key. This saves me a significant amount of time when teaching 16 classes per week.

Is there a way Canvas can be set up so grades entered in Gradebook then automatically updates the matching assignment's rubric?  Eg. If I enter a score of 7/10 into Gradebook, the matching 7/10 criterion is selected in the rubric for the student to view.

Hi @Emble7,

I do not believe this is possible and probably because most rubrics have more than one criterion that are calcuated together to get a final score for the assignment.

I agree with @dbrace on this one.  If you had an attached rubric to an assignment, how would the Gradebook know which rubric row to assign the points to...especially if there are multiple rows in your rubric for grading?

@Chris_Hofer @dbrace Thank you both for your replies!  Yes, I totally understand that in the case of a multi-criteria rubric this wouldn't be possible.  I mostly work with single criterion rubrics, which was why I thought it might streamline the process.  Anyway, thanks again!
