Using District Shared Google Drive for Assignment

I am attempting to get files from a Shared Google Drive (from the district) into an assignment in Canvas. I know there is not a direct way to do this but seeing if anyone has found a work around. I have found a work around to get something from a Shared Google Drive into a Page and hyperlink it but was hoping to use the "External Tool" option under assignments so each kid can have their own version of the assignment.
