Using Question Groups in New Canvas Quizzes, Categorization questions, and Old Quizzes

I have three questions:

1) Is there a way to make Question Groups in the "New Canvas Quizzes" like I could make in the "Old Canvas Quizzes" that does not involved editing/using testing banks? It was very easy in the old quizzes and seems very cumbersome, especially if I want to edit questions on the fly, in the new canvas quizzes. 

2) Is there a way to have the "New Canvas Quizzes" categorization style questions not be "all or nothing" grading? Have student sort 20 things in 2 categories, but only take points away for each item sorted incorrectly, vs giving students a zero?

3) Is it true that the "Old Canvas Quizzes" will not be an option for making new quizzes in the future? We were told this by our district admin.

I would also like to know the answer to this first question, in particular how to make question sets by selecting specific questions from a question bank.
