Using speed grader to find quiz questions that need manual grading

In speed grader, at the top of each quiz is a row of numbers. You used be to able to see which questions needed to be manually graded. The number of each question that needed grading used to be white, while the numbers of the questions that were already graded were gray. 

But now all the numbers are white.  What happened to this feature and how do I get it back?

Hello  @monica_a  Thank You for posting your question.  In looking at my own sandbox course using a "dummy" student, I looked at a quiz I created that had an essay question that still needed to be graded.  On my screen, I see something like this:
