Where do I get the api url?

Jump to solution

Hi, I'm actually a student that wants to make an app through the canvas API for my school(had to make a fake account to ask this question), I was able to get the key, but I don't know where to get the api url. Can someone please help me?? 😃

apparently it's supposed to look something like this "https://example.com/api/v1"

link to the video tutorial I was watching at the most relevant time frame:

PyCanvas: A Python Wrapper for the Canvas API - Matthew Emond - YouTube

If it adds anything, I'm using python instead of JSON or ruby files

api‌python api‌

You just add the endpoints to the URL to you Canvas installation.  The endpoint URLs can be found in the documentation at Canvas LMS REST API Documentation

Currently, I think they all start with /api/v1, so yes, they will look something like:

    https://yourschool.instructure.com/api/v1/...........

@vattikutiv , greetings! The best place in the Community to get help for this level of technical questions is the Canvas Developers‌ group. I’ve shared your question with this group, but I would also recommend joining the group so you’ll have access to their resources and information. Also, here is a document that might help you get started - https://community.canvaslms.com/docs/DOC-14390-canvas-apis-getting-started-the-practical-ins-and-out...

Hope this helps! Kona
