Where have all the accordions gone?

Jump to solution

Hi all,

I noticed that some of the graphics have changed within Canvas recently. Firstly I wasn't aware this was going to happen, do you know how I can signup for notifications of any changes within Canvas.

Secondly I noticed that the accordions I previously added no longer work.

Any chance this is just me experiencing this, or does any one know if this feature is no longer supported?

The code used is as follows.

<div class="enhanceable_content accordion">
<h3><a href="#">  Existing customers </a></h3>
<div>
<table style="width: 99%;">
<tbody>
<tr>
<td>
<p>Existing customers have purchased or use an organisations goods or services. Typically this is within a designated time period.</p>
</td>
</tr>
</tbody>
</table>
</div>
<h3><a href="#">  Previous Customers</a></h3>
<div>
<table style="width: 99%;">
<tbody>
<tr>
<td>
<p>These customers have <span>formerly had relations with the company in the form of products and or services previously purchased, but they are not currently </span><span>looking to buy</span><span> the organisations products or services. </span></p>
</td>
</tr>
</tbody>
</table>
</div>

Looking forward to hearing if its my mistake, or if its a wider problem.

Thanks in advance!

This feature is no longer supported. Actually, it was never officially supported in the sense of officially documented. A lot of people knew about it and some people even used it, but it was more along the lines of a Canvas hack than supported code. More people used the "enhanceable_content tabs" which will also be going away at some point.

The explanation from a top Instructure engineer is here: Deprecated use of magic jQueryUI widget

The best way to be alerted to changes within Canvas is to follow the https://community.canvaslms.com/community/answers/releases?sr=search&searchId=5c937e4e-a131-4248-bde...‌. If I remember correctly, this change was included in several release notes. If you want to go even further, you can participate in or review the collaborative chat sessions around the Beta releases such as https://community.canvaslms.com/events/2059-beta-release-notes-2017-07-03-collaborative-chat?sr=sear...‌.
