Why did Canvas garble a chart from a Word document?

Hello Canvas people - I just dinged a student for submitting an exercise with the chart below, which has an ineptly drawn X axis where years start at zero.  The student said hey, I actually did that right, so I opened the Word doc that was submitted and in fact it was correctly made.  I have pasted the screenshot of that image from Word below the Canvas rendering.

Do you have any idea why Canvas would have muddled the axis properties of a chart from Word?

Very weird!  Could the SpeedGrader rendering be systematically altering other aspects of submissions from Word?

Many thanks,

Will Masters

@william_masters , I just heard there is a bug in Canvas related to what’s being shown in Speedgrader not matching what is on the actual file. I don’t have the details, but based on this I would report it to Canvas Support (Help link in Cancas and Report a Problem).

Thank you Kona, but I don't get any "report a problem" link under my help menu. I will pursue via email to our Tufts people. Thanks for replying!

Hello there,  @william_masters ...

I have been reviewing older questions here in the Canvas Community website, and I stumbled upon your question.  I wanted to check in with you because I noticed that there hasn't been any new activity in this topic since  @kona ‌' reply on April 19, 2018.  It sounds as though you were going to reach out to Canvas Support to report this issue as a bug.  Are you still encountering this issue with SpeedGrader and rendering documents incorrect?  Or, do you believe this issue has been resolved as a result of bug fixes that Instructure published every three weeks along with their Release Notes?  If you could please come back to this thread to provide us with an update, that would be helpful.  Also, if you feel that one of Kona's responses has helped to answer your question, please feel free to mark one of those replies as "Correct".  I am going to mark your question as "Assumed Answered" because there hasn't been any new activity in this topic for almost five months.  However, that won't prevent you or others from posting additional questions and/or comments below that are related to this topic.  I hope that's alright with you, William.  Looking forward to hearing back from you soon.

I've also found a problem with the way a Word chart displays in speedgrader. Here, the lower section of the chart is missing. I've reported this to Canvas.

comparing how the chart displays in Word with how it displays in speedgrader
