Why does the rubric jump when i click into it from a different window?

I'm marking work using two screens. When i click into the rubric from the other window, often it jumps to somewhere else in the rubric, and changes a different row to the one i'd intended. It's not clear why this happens, how to undo it, or how to prevent it, but it's certainly frustrating
