Word vs google

I would like students to turn in a word document not a google document into a drop box. Is this possible?

Please see the "Select Submission Type" section of https://community.canvaslms.com/docs/DOC-10113-415241285 

You'll want to choose File Uploads and check Restrict Upload File Types and set this to ".doc,.docx" (without the quotes).
