Would using specific devices prevent a student from using Conferences?

One student has reported that she has tried two different devices to use class Canvas Conferences but cannot connect. Can only use Zoom -- ? Does anything about this make sense?

Thank you for submitting your question! There are a few things that could be causing connectivity problems for your student:

• It could be browser-related. Conferences work best using Chrome or Firefox browsers. Screen share conferences are not supported by Safari.

• They may need to make sure they have given Conferences permission to access their microphone before being able to join a conference. 

You can also refer to the What are the minimum requirements for BigBlueButton guide to make sure the student's devices are supported by BigBlueButton.
