assignments marked as missing

Is there a setting that once I put in a grade, something is no longer marked as missing? It is very time consuming to manually uncheck missing for every student individually. I teach both in person and remote from the same class and use sections, so my remote students are turning in through file upload and the in person students on paper, and they do not all do a text entry to remove the missing stamp when they are done.
