calendar event moving on screen

I regularly use the canvas calendar for classes and when I click on an event to see detail, the event details pane will jump around a little bit by a few pixels. I am not sure this is a bug or an intended feature but I do not want to see this feature, it is very distracting in my peripheral vision and is simply providing bad user experience. I tried to find a setting to it but could not find anything. The closest this I could find was when inspecting the code for the page there is a "trap focus" tag attached to the div of the even details. What is up with this feature and can it be disabled?
