Absolutely! Canvas.net, also know as Canvas Network is home to large group instruction courses, think MOOCs whereas canvas.instructure.com is also known as Canvas Free for Teachers or FFT for short. FFT is available to anyone in the world for free. In FFT you can create as many courses as you want and invite as many people via email. It has all the same features at the commercially available version of Canvas except that you don't have the administrative rights to, say, integrate your courses with a student information system.
