course and badges

I am trying to gamify my course, and I already created it and also made my badges but I don't have a clue as to how to add the badges to the course so that my students can start earning them.

Genesis,

You have to set up/integrate some sort of badging system (AccrediTrust, Open Badges, CanvaBadges, etc.) with your Canvas instance in order to use badges in your courses.

I recently set up CanvaBadges to use with a course and you can find out how to set it up here: Canvabadges

Also there is a Canvas "course" being offered in September that could be of benefit to you as it walks you through the entire process: Badges for Learning (Fall-2015)

There is also a feature request to allow for badges to be native to Canvas. I would encourage you to vote for it here:
