course back up

Jump to solution

I will no longer have access to canvas through my school and can not pay for a separate account. I do not want to lose the courses I have. I know you can download a course but the zip files only include a html document and links are not working. It seems as if this is just for saving it for later use in another canvas course, not to save to your computer for use outside of canvas. I know you can share the course through commons but if my account is deactivated would it still be there? If I add a person as a teacher to the course and my account is deactivated will they still have access to the course.

Hi!

To create a back-up, you can download the export packages and save them elsewhere. These can also be uploaded to FFT if you decide you want to use a course with a new group of students on your own. You are correct. This export needs to be used with Canvas, and it can't be used with other software.
