impossible to log in and out of different accounts without needing to restart computer

I have FOUR children who attend Manatee Academy in St. Lucie County schools in Florida so being able to successfully log in and out of four different children's accounts with the Canvas infrastructure is important. The fact that I am not able to do this with ease is creating a lot of unnecessary energy and time wasted. The only way I've discovered so far to be able to log into another child's account is to do a COMPLETE computer shutdown/restart. 

Every time that I try to switch accounts and click on the 'account' button, and then the 'logout' button, I am met with an error message. This causes me to need to do an entire reboot of the computer and start from the beginning. This is incredibly frustrating. Attached is the error screenshot I see every time. Any solutions?

Hi Joel,

Sounds like something is getting cached locally on the computer that is causing this issue. Have you tired using the incognito‌ or private mode the browsers have? Chrome & Firefox both offer these and are available for macs. If you give this a try and open a new incognito‌ or private window each time you want log in with a different name, I believe you wouldn't have the issue you're having and having to reboot between different accounts.

Hi,  @5621902119  Welcome to the Canvas Community! Brian's advice should help you to manage multiple logins.

I have occasion to log in and out of different Canvas instances regularly, and I find the EditThisCookie extension that is available for the Chrome browser to be an invaluable asset. Basically, each login creates a cookie in the browser; removing that cookie before initiating a subsequent login with different credentials smooths out the login process nicely.

I wanted to offer another option - Multiple users in Google Chrome. I enjoy using this on my computer. I have a "user" for my personal Gmail and another from my Google Apps for Education account. I can keep my sign-ins and bookmarks separate, but it's easy to switch between them on a single device.
