mark as done button on smart phone

One of my students told me that the [mark as done] button was not working (I used that to indicate students had read a page before they can do their assignment) on her smartphone. Can anyone confirm whether the [mark as done] button works on mobile devices or not?

Yes, the Mark as Done button "should" work on in the Canvas Student app. I just tested it and had no issues.
I'm not sure if this is Android or iOS, but there are two items I want to point out:
iOS: The Mark as Done button is kind of hidden. The student would need to tap the "three-dots" menu in the top right corner on the page to see the Mark as Done option.
Android: Mark as Done is easy to find, but checks the box and goes back the Module view won't update until the student refreshed the screen (using pull to refresh).
If the student still has issues I would suggest they Report an Issue under the Help section of the app:
