Where is the People option

Good morning, @SondraPatten ...

You did not specify if you are an instructor or a student.

If you are an instructor, you can enable the "People" course navigation button via your course "Settings" screen.  How do I manage Course Navigation links? - Instructure Community

• People Overview (Instructors) - Instructure Community

If you are a student, the "People" course navigation button may or may not be visible in your course(s).  Your instructor(s) have the option of displaying the "People" button or hiding it from students.  If you cannot see the "People" button, your instructor(s) may have chosen to hide it from you and your classmates for a variety of reasons.  You'd have to reach out to your instructor(s) to see if it could be enabled in your course(s).  How do I get help with Canvas as a student? - Instructure Community

If the people option was visible, where would I find it.

Hi @LeahWhetstone ...

The "People" course navigation button would be on the left-hand side of your Canvas environment.  On the far left-hand side of Canvas, you'll see your global navigation menu with icons for things like "Account", "Dashboard", "Courses", etc.  When you access any course within Canvas, the text menus (still on the left-hand side of your screen) just to the right of the global navigation menu is what is referred to as course navigation menus.  You might see "People" listed there...if the instructor has chosen to make it visible or not.
