video announcement taking two hours to load -- why?

I am trying to finish up my classes and copy content to my course shells tonight.

I made a simple "welcome" video for my students in Announcements and it's still "loading" after two hours. The video is only 8 minutes. But it's just stuck loading, and I can't do anything else in Canvas. If I try to reload the page or go to another section or module, it says I may lose content or the video may not embed properly because it's still being uploaded. For two hours?

What is going on? Thx.!
