In this Canvas Teacher update, the app supports Files and Pages for courses and the To Do list. Additionally, the Profile icon has been moved.
Download the Canvas Teacher app in the iTunes store. Version 1.3 requires iOS 10.0 or later.
The Teacher app supports Files for courses. Files allows instructors to view and manage course files and folders. Instructors can also upload new files and create new folders.
Instructors can edit course files in the Teacher app. Editing options include changing file names, publishing or unpublishing files, managing access and availability, and deleting files.
The Teacher app supports Pages for courses. Pages allows instructors to view and manage course pages. Instructors can also create new pages.
Instructors can also edit page content, manage page settings, and delete pages.
The Teacher app supports the To Do List. The To Do List shows the items that require grading in all of your courses. Each item displays the assignment title, course name, due date, and the number of items that require grading. By tapping an assignment, you can open SpeedGrader to begin grading.
The Profile page can now be opened by tapping the Profile icon at the top of the screen when viewing the Dashboard. Previously, the Profile icon was found in the Navigation Menu.
Has this change with files in any way affected the course files outside of the app? We have had a few random issues this week with students not being able to see files or images in files. THANKS!
This update to the Teacher app doesn't affect how Files function when viewing Canvas in a browser. If you haven't already, you should report these issues to Canvas support so they can look into them further. Thanks!
When I tap on an item in my to do list, the speedgrade flashes on the screen and then the screen goes white. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling the app. Any advice? Thanks!
I'm not able to replicate the same issue on my device. You may want to reach out to Canvas Support to see if there are any issues specific to your device or another factor in play.
You are correct that there is not an option to remove a page as the Front Page from the page itself. However, there is a Set as Front Page option on all other published pages that will change the designated Front Page.
I have a teacher that is saying the Teacher app had modules last semester. I don't remember because I typically use it for Speedgrader. Can anyone else tell me if modules were taken away or the teacher is mistaken?
