Missing information on a page after saving

In the reference section of a page, I can see my full list of references, but when I save, about four of them are missing. There is a blank space instead where the references should be. Why is this happening? When I select "edit this page" again, I can see all of my references there. I tried refreshing the page. I tried deleting the references and adding them back in again.
