In Canvas Teacher 1.11, Student View is supported in the app.
Canvas Android app version updates are distributed in a phased rollout, which distributes the update to all users over time. The features in these notes may not immediately be available as an update in the Play Store. The Canvas Teacher Android App requires Android 5.0 or later.
Within a course, teachers can access Student View at the bottom of the page. This change allows teachers to view their course from the perspective of a student.
Accessing Student View opens the Canvas Student app and displays the Test Student icon at the top of the window. The entire app is also surrounded by a purple outline to indicate the app is being viewed as the test student. The mobile app matches the same restrictions for the Test Student in Canvas web. However, the Test Student cannot be reset in the app.
Note: When accessing Student View, teachers who do not have the Student app are first directed to the Play store to download the Student app.
Teachers can leave Student View at any time by opening the User Profile Menu and clicking the Stop Masquerading button.
