Students unable to accept a course invite in Student App with C4E

We have noticed that students are unable to accept course invites with C4E in the Canvas Student app. Is there a timeline for this feature to become available?

Our student device is the iPad and it is easier for young students to navigate through the App than in the browser. We generally teach through SIS created courses but have some manually created courses that students are invited to for various purposes and classes.

Thanks for sharing! I'm curious what kind of message the students receive or do they not see anything when an invite is sent? I will be trying this next week on Ipads. Have you tried going through the browses rather than the app?

They do not see anything in the app. They do receive an email with the invite; we just don't get our very young students all set up in email. They can accept the course in the usual way in the browser view.

My 5th graders experienced the same thing yesterday/Nov. 8th. I took the enroll code and made a QR code out of it to speed up the process of joining. A temporary workaround until the C4E app is developed more.

We noticed the same things yesterday. When manually enrolling students, if they were in the Student App they didn't see nor could accept the invite. It also appeared when they logged in on the browser that the invite was automatically accepted without them clicking on anything. They logged into the browser and at the top of the screen got the message that normally appears after a student accepts an invite to a course, but the student never clicked on anything. To be honest, I'm hopeful this is how it is expected to operate, that if a student is operating with Elementary for Canvas their invite to a course is automatically accepted so we don't have to worry about kids incorrectly declining an invite.

Agree - I would love for the invite to be automatically accepted as well. I do hope they can get it to be accepted in the app eventually.

Hi all,

We have put the ticket into our current sprint, so the fix will come soon. Not just the invitation notification was missing, so we target all of the missing ones in this fix.
