Homeroom Sync - Manually Created Course 2 Questions

Jump to solution
  1. If a teacher creates a course and selects sync from homeroom, when a SIS imports a new student, does the teacher have to add the student to the manually created course or does the homeroom sync take care of it?
  2. If the students moves from a manually created course that has the sync to homeroom on, does the student automatically get dropped or does the teacher have to drop the student?

1. If a teacher selects sync from homeroom in the manually created course, the enrollments will sync from the homeroom nightly with the SIS sync, meaning that the manual course enrollments will stay in sync with whatever is happening in the homeroom course that is being synced by the SIS.

2. Because the sync is handled automatically once that box is checked, a student who moves and is thus dropped from a homeroom will also be dropped from the manually created course that was linked with the setting selected.
