Description

The Canvas Klatch is an online office hour for the courses I teach for the Online Network of Educators (@ONE). This is a collaborative, system-wide network of California Community College faculty, classified professionals, and administrators. @ONE provides professional development that is technology based but student focused and is funded by the California Community College's Chancellor's Office.

Agenda

This is an office hour, so whoever attends directs the conversation. I teach the following courses for @ONE:

Course participants who join this session could be from any of these courses, but all members of the Canvas Community are welcome to visit the office hour.

Additional Resources

  • The link to the session prompts you to download the Zoom client (Mac, Windows, Android, and iOS) - attendees will first be placed in the Zoom Waiting Room and may be contacted via in-Zoom chat prior to joining the main room

EVENT TIP
Always RSVP to an event (whether it's yes/no/maybe). It's a great way to get updates about this session, participate in follow-up discussions, and be notified of upcoming events similar to this topic or with this host. (NOTE: You must activate your community account before RSVPing to any CanvasLIVE event.)

During this session I made a couple of recordings and am sharing them here for attendees and others who are interested.

The first one shows how to find videos on YouTube that are manually captioned and licensed under creative commons. And I show how to disable the automatic embed of a YouTube video (included is a reason why):

The second video discusses briefly a comparison between Studio and embedded YouTube videos in the Rich Content Editor:

Finally, I was asked to share links to the videos I used during our session. Both were from the *awesome* team at Crash Course:
