Changemakers do more than “do good”; they are creative and make transformative changes to the spaces they enter. They’re the ones actively working to make a difference!  Simply, educators, possess next-level amazingness ( honestly, I can’t help but consider them to be superpowers) and share seemingly endless positivity for the benefit of their students. Educators - YOU make a difference. You are magical and accomplish the impossible, and you truly are changemakers.

This month, one that is filled with thoughts of appreciation, kindness, and love, Instructure is celebrating some of the changemakers that inspire learners every day. Teachers and educators inspire students to dive deeper into questions, spark innovation, and support growth. They are the ultimate cheerleaders! We love that they bring out the best in us as learners and are truly passionate about what they do.

Here’s the exciting part: We have a contest for you! Instructure will select twelve lucky teachers to receive $500 gift cards, based on your videos and how you uniquely connect with your students, build opportunities to explore, and support achievement within the amazing learning environment you foster.

While we can’t possibly capture every teacher’s incredible story, we wanted to provide an opportunity to boldly and proudly share how you actively make a difference in the life of those lucky to share a classroom with you! What motivates you? What encourages you to bring your best self to your work day in and day out? How are you making a difference in the life of your students? What are your hopes for your students? What do you want them to achieve confidently?

Here’s the challenge:

  • Create a short video demonstrating how you’re making a difference in your classroom and share what you want to accomplish. (You may also create a video for or with a teacher you think is deserving but needs a nudge or wouldn’t nominate themselves.)
  • Keep this video brief. Consider how you can share highlights and yet keep it to no more than 2 minutes and 20 seconds in length.
  • Be as creative as you’d like! Be specific, show examples, and be authentically you. Help the world learn about you and the passion for learning you instill in your students.

Now that you’re inspired, here are the rules of the contest. Make sure to read them carefully so you meet all of the requirements.

  • The contest is open to residents in the United States, the United Kingdom, and Australia.
  • Share your video!
  • Submissions must be posted or received by 11:59 p.m. EST February 28, 2023, to be considered.

Even if you don’t share a video, be sure to follow @VH2020 on Twitter and on Instagram or @canvas_by_Inst on Twitter and @canvaslms on Instagram to share your support for educators all around the world. 🎉

Then there’s more! There will be a Teacher’s Choice, and voters will get to decide which one of the 12 teachers should get an extra $1,000 in gift cards! Voting will take place on the official contest webpage from March 7-14. So, make sure to bookmark it and return to vote.

Note: You are more than welcome to cross-post your stories here, but videos must be shared on the official contest webpage or via Twitter, Instagram, or Facebook to be considered for prizes. Feel free to share links to those posts as a comment.
