External blog post as community blog post

If we have our own blog is it okay to publish a community blog entry with a link to the corresponding personal blog post, or even copy and paste the blog post? I have a few blog posts I want to write up but I would prefer to do them on my own blog. It does seem that replicating the blog post would ensure that if the original blog post were deleted the information would still remain in the community.

I find the bit in our profiles that says "This user doesn't have a blog" to be confusing (and misleading).   AFter all, I do have a blog.   I have even posted in blogs here. I looked for ways to "have a blog" and was informed that no, you don't have your own blog - you post in group blogs.

    WHy post on my profile that "This user doesn't have a blog" ?

My understanding is that it means a personal blog on your profile versus a blog made/created in a group.

How does one make a "personal blog" on one's profile?  I tried to figure that out (and wondered why, if it *is* possible, there isn't a link right where it says that this person doesn't have a blog that would go to how to make one).   I didn't get anywhere.

I believe that feature is turned off in the Community. You'd need to post your blog in one of the group's and then you can share it with other groups if you want.

So, in other words... the feature doesn't actually exist?   Is there a "profile" that's not in "community?" 

  As I said, it seems strange to me to state that I don't have a blog when, in fact, there is no option to have a blog.

(It's one of the "dead ends" I've found -- the statement inspired me to try to figure out where I could have a blog. I've learned not to explore things in Canvas  )
