Is there a way to extract quiz log data from Canvas? (How do I view a quiz log for a student?)
I asked this same question in the Data and Analytics group here: https://community.canvaslms.com/message/123375-extracting-quiz-log-data

I don't think you need to ask it in multiple places, just share it with a group. I'm a bit confused on how all that works, so I may have it wrong.
I also answered this another place you posted it.
They can use the Quiz Submission Events API to get the event data. It's kind of wonky, though, and must be taken with a grain of salt. It shows things like students answering questions before they've looked at them. There have been a couple of discussions in the Community about people trying to use it. As with most things recently, I can't seem to find them when I need them, but I remember discussing what some of the items in them meant. Here are a couple of related things:

Thanks @James . I've read up on the seemingly odd behaviors of the quiz logs and will pass them along, but our specific use case for wanting the logs would use quizzes that display one question at a time so I'm hoping that we can pull out a fairly accurate 'time spent on question' from the log since the questions can't be "views and possibly read" until the student submits their answer to the previous question. Thanks again for pointing me to the correct API!
@Tasha_Biesinger , you are fortunate with the one question at a time. It sounds like that's going to give you what you need and I'm glad I could help steer you in the right direction.
