Password Reset Steps for Free-for-Teacher Accounts
1. Access the Correct Login Page
2. Request Password Reset
- Enter the login information associated with your Canvas account and click the Request Password button
- A notification displays stating that it may take up to 30 minutes to send password recovery instructions to your email, and you may need to check your spam folder to locate the email
3. Check Your Email
- Return to your email account and sign in open the forgot password email
- If your user login is associated with multiple email addresses, password reset instructions will be sent to each address
- Important: Check your spam/junk folder if you don't see the email
4. Reset Your Password
- Click the click here to set a new password link
- Type in a new password and then confirm that password by typing it again
- Click the update password button
Important Notes
- Password reset emails expire after two hours
- A password reset email may take up to thirty minutes to arrive in your email inbox
- If you have added multiple email addresses to your account, use the original email added during account creation to log in

If you're not receiving the password reset email:
- Verify you're using the correct email address (exactly as registered)
- Check that you're on the correct Canvas URL (canvas.instructure.com for Free-for-Teacher)
