Text truncating makes it impossible to read section name

When using the section filter, the section name is truncated in the middle, making it impossible to differentiate between sections.

Our section naming scheme follows this format:

[department & course number] [section & section number] [instruction mode]

For example "CHEM 1AL DIS 101 (In Person)"

The first, and third part is typically identical for all the sections that compose a course. The enhanced gradebook truncates the middle of the section name, obscuring the only unique part of this data and presenting the instructor with a list of items that look identical:

Even if you mouse over the truncated name, it's not possible to read the full section name.

This filter should be modified to display the full name of the section to accommodate all section naming schemas.

Thanks for sharing this feedback along with a screenshot so that we can see exactly what your pain point is. In updating this to be consistent with other filters, such as modules, it seems we made life much easier for some, but not for others, such as yourself. 

The showing of the full section name upon hover is something that we'd also like to do and we already have a ticket with the engineering team to add this in. I've reached out to the team to see about how quickly we can get that piece prioritized. We'll be sure to provide an update.

HI, @milesl! Wanted to follow up with you to let you know that the work to show the full filter on hover is making good progress and is expected to be deployed with our production deploy on 04.26.23.

It has not been fixed as of 08-2023. I renamed all my sections to make it easier, but I only had eight to rename. I can't imagine an institution with numerous sections could do the same thing in any reasonable amount of time.
