Based on feedback from this group, we've made some updates to the UI of the Enhanced Gradebook Filters in order to improve efficiency in creating and accessing saved filter presets and also using just in time filters with no intention to save for later access.
My classes are cross-listed. In the previous version of gradebook, I could easily click on the tab and select a class. Now I have to filter the classes each time. Can you please put back the drop-down tab so we can easily sort our classes without going through the filter process? Thanks
I just wanted to take a quick minute to thank you all for taking a look at the Enhanced Gradebook Filters feature preview and taking the time to provide feedback here in the community user group.
As we have continued our development (remember feature previews are in active development) and reviewed your feedback, we have adjusted the design and functionality a bit. Please check back next Friday when we will have these designs available for you to view.
Many of you were able to recreate an issue where applying multiple filter conditions of the same type did not actually apply all. While we are working to fix this issue, I wanted to make you aware that our first step will be to remove that possibility (since it isn't working appropriately anyway) as we work toward a more sustainable and reliable way to allow for this functionality.
We have also fixed a bug in which some non-alphanumeric symbols were not displaying correctly in the conditions dropdown. This fix will be part of our next Canvas deploy, scheduled for March 30.
Other items that we will be working on soon:
Show student groups in alphabetical order
Download CSV based on filtered view
Add view setting to hide assignment group and overall total columns
Welcome to the Gradebook Filters User Group. I’m so glad you’ve joined us.
In this space, you will find information about our Enhanced Gradebook Filters Feature Preview. To get started, you may want to explore the information linked in the sidebar to the right. You will find a written overview of the feature, an overview video, and an FAQ document. We hope that after reviewing this information, you will consider enabling this feature option in a few courses to try it out and provide us with feedback.
As a reminder, a Feature Preview is a feature option in active development. Users who opt in to the feature can help improve the feature through direct feedback provided by sharing insights and asking questions in this community space.
