Are any users or high school counselors utilizing Canvas as a communication tool? If so, how?
Is there a way to utilize Canvas to communicate with high school students and their parents? And can other resources such as Twitter feeds, Naviance and department websites be embedded into Canvas?

@ssoricel , I've moved your question from where it was originally posted into the https://community.canvaslms.com/groups/higher-ed?sr=search&searchId=6849a337-ae0c-4f19-a2e7-b821da97... group so that will reach the appropriate audience. If you're not yet a member of the group, you can join by clicking on the link to the group and selecting Join Group from the Actions dropdown at the upper right of the page.

The fact that you can create totally open Canvas spaces with no log-in required might be useful to you in this effort, @ssoricel ! And as regards embedding Twitter feeds and sites, I have some tips here:
Laura PAINTs Canvas - covers Twitter, YouTube, Flickr, Pinterest, etc.
I'm not familiar with Naviance, but just in general Canvas Pages are a really good space for embedding external content!
