Ability to have Multiple Gradebooks per Course / Assignment Groups

With a lot of assignments, the size of the Gradebook can get large - if there was a way to have multiple Gradebooks and/or different options of arranging the appearance of the Gradebook - it would improve usability for instructors needing to find and work with their grades.

Definitely a great idea. Separating classwork and homework which are not graded from summative assessments would be most useful.

What a fabulous idea! It is difficult having to scroll past a number of class tasks to reach the graded Assessment tasks. Please add this option for us.

Thanks for sharing this feedback about the Canvas Gradebook, @tjr1 . Because it is written so broadly, we aren't able to move it forward for discussion in its current form.

The Canvas Gradebook has numerous filtering options for groups and sections. When a course is organized into multiple sections, the instructor can filter by section in order to see a gradebook just for that one section. Instructors can also filter columns according to various criteria.

We recognize that this idea has already garnered attention overnight (well, overnight for us). Our documentation (How do idea conversations work in the Canvas Community?) explains that moderators will review ideas before moving it forward.

We're going to archive this idea. Please read through How do I create a new idea conversation in the Canvas Community? and after doing so, write a new idea that focuses specifically on a request for a new viewing, filtering, or sorting option for the Gradebook that would enhance its usability. Then, if you still feel the need for multiple gradebooks, describe how your course is currently set up and how multiple gradebooks would represent an improvement to that setup.
