In Canvas, there is a pass/fail option for Assignments but not for Quizzes. Quizzes are often a low-stakes genre where professors want to require a point threshold for 'passing'. Currently, we do not have this option.
@JVC1 As Kelvin notes, New Quizzes, which are based on the Assignment type, accommodate Complete/Incomplete grading.
Our product teams are no longer developing new functionality on the code base for Old (Classic) Quizzes, which is scheduled for deprecation.
The resources in the New Quizzes User Group will help you get started using the new quiz tool. If you don't see the ability to enable the new quiz tool in the settings area of your course, please reach out to your local Canvas admin for guidance on its availability at your school.
There is a need to have a quiz threshold. This is basic functionality that should have been there long ago. e.g if there is a requirement on a quiz to reach a threshold, it needs to be enforced automatically by the LMS. I use quizzes as a prerequisite before moving on to the next modules where a student must achieve a minimum score. I know many other instructors have this need as well. This needs to be expedited, especially since there has been a call for this functionality for some time now.
