Most K-12 courses in Canvas have multiple sections nested within one course. At secondary level, that can be up to 180+ students that appear in the People roster list. In remote learning settings, it's critical that teachers can accurately verify 'attendance' based upon student's last activity in their courses. However, that's overwhelming when the People roster includes all sections and does not currently provide an option to sort/filter by section.
I wouldn't think this would require a huge programmatic effort and it would save teachers' an immense amount of time on a daily basis.
