Adjust all assignment and quiz dates on a single page

The Problem:

Managing dates one item at a time is tedious when you are planning an entire semester. This is true for new classes, but also for existing classes since the ability to globally adjust imported dates never works for the way my institution designs new semesters.

I would like a spreadsheet format that shows all date related events on one page. I could then set up all events and synchronize them where necessary. This could be an online form, or the ability to download a csv template and reupload the dates.

I have attached a simplified snapshot of this kind of spreadsheet.

This new feature would be much appreciated. Having to change the date of each individual assignment every semester is time consuming and when I import it to a new course students are always confused about the dates. I plan to have students be able to navigate the entire course on their own, but when they see the dates from the last semester or see assignments that are closed for submission they automatically stop their progress in frustration. Having an option for a smoother transition in importing assignment for new semesters would definitely be a blessing.

I like this idea a lot. We are required to plan out the due dates weeks in advance for our lessons. When something comes and changes have to be made to the due dates of many assignments, it is difficult and tedious to go in and make changes to each individual assignment. The only solution I have found is to go into that courses calendar and to drag and drop each assignment to it's new date. I like the idea of having a spreadsheet you can upload to make bulk changes. I up voted this suggestion.

You're correct, but the calendar only works if the assignments are somewhat close in date to the new due date.  I accidentally had all of mine in 2018, not 2019, so unless I don't get it, I can't drag them from last year to this year.  It should NOT be tedious like this.  We should be able to go to the syllabus page, and simply drag and drop assignments into the date we want.  This should not be rocket science for Canvas to do for us -- without spreadsheets and tokens and the like.

Really! 600 votes 4 years ago and this isn't fixed!

I am also surprised that Canvas could not address this simple request after 4 years of people asking for that. And the idea of adjusting all due dates for assignments is not actually new - years ago my school used WebCT system before switching to Canvas and such capability was there.

Exactly! I used Haiku for several years prior to Canvas. Easy bulk change of due dates.

Really? How can this not be in the 10 or top 10%? It appears to me to be the number request. Similar ideas were around last year & expired with out action.

 @careysmith ,

This idea was in the top 10% (it was #11 when I checked to write this message) and Canvas has addressed it. However, it did not get scheduled for development during the first quarter of 2019.

You can check the top ten percent of votes list yourself by going to the Canvas Studio link and clicking on the Top 10% by Vote button. As I write this, there are 158 ideas in the top 10%.

What amazing black magic is this!? Thanks,  @James ‌! I'm trying to modify it right now to adjust the dates on announcements as well but it already saved me tons of time trying to manually shift weeks 2-7 of my course from what could have been hours to about 15 minutes. Bravo!
