[Assignments] Edit/Revise an Assignment

In Google Classroom, I had the ability to return a student's work to them and ask them to revise, edit, or finish it.  Students could then see their previous work and edit/revise it as needed.  In Canvas we can reassign, but it makes them begin the assignment all over again. 

While they can still SEE their previous attempts, with something like an annotation, they'd have to start over or just pick up where they may have left off.  Please make a resubmit with edit/revise option rather than starting over.

Thank you for sharing your idea! While searching through our open ideas, I found one very close to this thread, but it's focused on the Canvas Student (app) experience. I'm including it here in case you or any Community Member would like to follow that idea too. Revise submitted work in "Student Annotations" in iOS App

This is something that I often hear from people that have transitioned from Google Classroom to Canvas. As part of the new Ideas & Themes process, all ideas in Idea Conversations were reviewed by the Product Team. Any Idea that was associated with an identified theme was moved to the new Idea & Themes space. Any Idea that was not part of the move is being marked as Archived. This will preserve the history of the conversations while also letting Community members know that Instructure will not explore the request at this time.
