Automatic awarding of badges based on Mastery Level for an Outcome

It would be very helpful if a change in a student’s Mastery Level for an outcome automatically triggered the awarding of a badge (without the need for students to do anything else). So, for example, if a student submitted an assignment that changed their Mastery level for outcome X from level 3 (Working towards) to level 4 (Mastery) then they should automatically be awarded the Outcome X Mastery badge.

This would make life so much easier. At present we have to export from the Mastery Gradebook, then link the students' Canvas IDs to their University IDs and reformat the cvs file to remove unwanted columns. Then do an import into our badging system (Badgr/Credly). If using Badgr we have to do a separate import for each badge. That results in a lot of manual processing!

As part of the new Ideas & Themes process, all ideas in Idea Conversations were reviewed by the Product Team. Any Idea that was associated with an identified theme was moved to the new Idea & Themes space. Any Idea that was not part of the move is being marked as Archived. This will preserve the history of the conversations while also letting Community members know that Instructure will not explore the request at this time.
