Automatically mark items "missing" when due date has passed
While it is helpful for assignments to be marked late and have late points automatically deducted, it would be helpful to label them as "missing" once the due date has passed. Students are (despite being told not to) ignoring the "to-do" list or closing out the items, then clicking on the "Grades" tab to see what is marked missing. This often leads to miscommunication on assignments that are missing, versus turned in but not yet graded.
There is also a shortkey for exempt (EX) but not missing, which makes it difficult/tedious when going through 160+ students to make sure everything they have yet to turn in is marked missing.
