Can an assignment group average be linked to an assignment?

So, my school is limiting how many daily grades can go into our official gradebook, but as a math teacher, I take a grade everyday we have class which gives me a lot of grades. I thought about having the assignments for one week placed into one assignment group and using that average as my ONE daily grade for the week. The only thing that is not working for me is that when students go back and make up an assignment from weeks past, I have to manually go in and change the grade in the assignment that I created to reflect the new average for that week of work. So, I want to know if I can link the AVERAGE of an assignment group to an assignment so that it automatically updates when students complete each individual assignment for that group?

As part of the new Ideas & Themes process, all ideas in Idea Conversations were reviewed by the Product Team.
