We would like the ability to have the listing title and listing path automatically updated in Canvas Catalog if there needs to be an update to either of these items (course name or course code) in the Canvas course. Currently, this is a manual process for a Canvas Catalog administrator after the Canvas Catalog listing has been created.
Note from Canvas Support:
At the moment the Listing Path in Catalog is behaving as intended. If you change the name of the course in Canvas or Catalog, the Listing Path will remain the same unless you manually change it. If you leave the Listing Path unchanged the course will function just fine in both Catalog and Canvas and any users to which you had already distributed the listing URL will still be able to access the listing in Catalog to enroll in the course. On the other hand, if you change the Listing Path (or if there was an update to have Catalog change the Listing Path automatically), then any user who has the previous listing URL would no longer be able to get to the Catalog listing with the URL they have. You would need to send them the new listing URL and updated any sites or documents where the previous listing URL was in use.
